Aviation and Air Travel in Brown County - 05/14/2018

Pictured (L-R) above are Ken Grosskopf, De Pere Kiwanis member and Mark Piette, Asisistant Airport Director at Austin Straubel International Airport. Mark Piette gave an interesting presentation about aviation in Brown County. He discussed some of the events in those early years, Packer connections, types of planes and other interesting facts. Ken Grosskopf recently returned from his winter home in Florida, conveniently missing the April snow storm!

Cal Konshak, Scholarship Winner - 05/07/2018

Pictured above are Cal Konshak (center) with his parents, Lisa and Paul. Cal was presented a scholarship from De Pere Kiwanis at our May 7th meeting. He also spoke at our meeting about his future plans. Congratulations Cal and best wishes in your future endeavors.

Local History & the De Pere High School Key Club - 03/26/2018

(L-R) Pictured above are Ngan Ho, Addie Vandeloo, Annika Eakin, Mary Jane Herber, Kimberly Stathas, Hannah Spargur and Ashna Bansal. Mary Jane Herber spoke to our group about the history of Brown County, Green Bay and De Pere. The other young ladies in the picture are members of the De Pere High School Key Club. They spoke to our group about the Fox View Intermediate School Carnival that they organize and the WI-UM Key Club District Conference that they hosted this year. 

Tony Walter,"Baptism by Football" - 03/05/2018

Pictured above are (L-R) Tony Walter and De Pere Kiwanis President, Terry Hasselbacher. Tony was the featured speaker at our Kiwanis meeting. Tony is a native of De Pere and former sports editor and columnist for the Press-Gazette. Tony wrote a book titled "Baptism by Football", which chronicles events in Green Bay and area in 1922 including details of how the Packers lost, regained, and then saved their franchise. 


Muscular Dystrophy Association - 02/05/2018

Pictured above are Joe Vanden Avond, De Pere Kiwanis member and Bri Lodel, Executive Director at MDA Green Bay. Bri was the speaker at our meeting. She spoke about the mission of MDA, the clientel, services provided and how we might volunteer. Joe has been a volunteer and spoke about how much he enjoyed the experience. 

West De Pere High School Band - 02/05/2018

Pictured above are Charlie Ott, De Pere Kiwanis member and Dan Gilanyl, Band Director at West De Pere High School. Every year the band students help us with our Breakfast with Santa Event. They do a wonderful job! The folks that attend this event leave tips for the band and our club makes a significant contribution also. 

Kiwanis Children's Fund Silver Patch Award - 01/12/2018

"The Kiwanis Club of De Pere has achieved Silver-level Today Club status for the 2016–17 Kiwanis year. That means our club’s unrestricted gifts and the unrestricted gifts from our club members to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund reached a per-member giving average of US$25. Congratulations!"

Korina Aghmar, Brown County Health Department - 01/08/2018

Pictured are Korina Aghmar and Gabrielle Albers. Korina is the Brown County Health Dept. Communicable Disease Nurse and Gabrielle is a De Pere Kiwanis Club member. Korina was the speaker at our meeting. Her topic was influenza, what it is, how it's spread, what the symptons are and how to prevent it. This was a very timely and interesting subject. 

Jacob Enli, Honored Guest - 09/25/2017
